Indrikis Gelzis is known for his sculptures made out of steel, wood and textile that reflect a syntactically broken-up reality open for interpretation. This book is published as a survey of the artist's practice between 2016 and 2022. The pages of the book mirror the artist's vision by employing a dynamic layout that seemingly fractures the conventional flow of narrative. Each section is a deliberate interplay of texture, form, and color, much like the raw materials that find their way into the sculptures. In this, the book itself becomes a sculptural object, inviting readers to experience the artist's work in an entirely new dimension.
The design of the exhibition catalog mirrors the visual language established within the exhibition itself, with a deliberate selection of materials for their remarkable tactile and textural attributes.
